This twin tower development includes almost 2 million square feet of office space right in the heart of downtown Calgary.
Spalding was hired by Gibbs Gage Architects to develop the door, hardware, and door security specifications for the new tower development. The developer (Hines) had very specific requirements for the scope, and Spalding worked with the design team to ensure all of their needs were met. The project had unique challenges, including high design entrances that also needed to function as emergency exits. We successfully found a hardware solution that met code without detracting from the design intent.
Once the specifications were set, Spalding was contracted by Ellis Don Construction Services to provide some of the material for the base building phase.
Through our work with Hines, we eventually became the only approved supplier for the project as tenant work began. In this phase of the project, Spalding consulted on and supplied hardware and door security components on over 100 floors of triple A tenant space.
Spalding continues to support Hines and the facility for their ongoing maintenance needs through our Aftermarket team.
